How do you get testosterone in Alaska?

To get testosterone in Alaska, you need a prescription from a licensed clinician. You’ll typically start with an appointment to discuss your goals and medical history, after which your clinician can determine if testosterone therapy is appropriate for you.

Yes. As of 2026, there is no statewide ban on gender-affirming hormone therapy for adults or minors. However, proposed regulations and legislation may affect access to care for minors in the future. In August 2025, the Alaska State Medical Board voted to advance draft regulations that would classify providing gender-affirming care to minors as “unprofessional conduct,” which could expose providers to disciplinary action if implemented.
