What’s New At Plume? Community Hub, Kamala/Walz, and more!

At Plume, we’re always striving to support and grow alongside our community. Whether you’re already a Plume member or interested in getting started, there’s always something new going on, and we’re thrilled to keep you in the loop! Here’s some updates on what we’ve been up to recently:

Introducing the Plume Community Hub

We launched the Plume Community Hub, your new one-stop-shop for connecting with other trans and non-binary people. This interactive space is designed to foster meaningful connections, provide vital resources, and offer a sense of belonging to all Plume members.

In the Plume Community Hub, you can chat in our Discussion Spaces with other members about everything from the trans experience and surgery questions to gender expression and more. Your Peer-Facilitated Support Groups are now centrally located within the Community Hub, making it easier than ever to access the support you need. We’ve also enhanced our events program—now, not only can you attend Events and Workshops, but you can also join us for After Parties, where the conversation continues long after the event ends.

Beyond connecting with others, you’ll have access to a growing library of Transition-Related Resources to support your journey. Plus, as a Plume member, you can redeem Member-Exclusive Discounts on a variety of trans-affirming brands and services. The Plume Community Hub is all about empowering you to connect, learn, and thrive within a community that truly understands and celebrates who you are.

Endorsing the Harris/Walz Campaign

We are proud to endorse the Harris/Walz campaign in the upcoming 2024 Presidential Elections. Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz have shown consistent support for the trans community, and we believe their leadership will be instrumental in advancing LGBTQ+ rights and healthcare access. As part of our endorsement, we participated in the Trans Folks for Harris call, where we joined forces with other trans advocates to discuss the importance of this election and how we can collectively make a difference. Stay tuned for more information from us soon on everything you need to know about voting as a trans person this election year.

Expanded Coverage Across Multiple States

Access to gender-affirming care is at the core of what we do, and we’re committed to making it as accessible as possible. Plume is now available in Kansas, Alaska, and South Dakota! In addition to expanding our coverage, we’ve also added several new insurance carriers across multiple states, allowing more members of our community to access the care they need at a reduced rate. Be sure to check our updated list of accepted insurance providers to see if your carrier is now covered.

What’s Next?

We’re always looking for new ways to support our community and advocate for trans rights.  Keep an eye out for future updates as we expand our services, create new resources, and strengthen our community connections. If you’re not yet a Plume member and want to learn more about what we offer, visit our FAQ. We’re honored to be on this journey with you!

In order to provide healthcare services to you and give you medically appropriate care, we are required to get a recent blood pressure reading. You can get your blood pressure read for free at many pharmacies, go to your primary care doctor, or you may purchase a blood pressure cuff online.
