A Guide to Navigating Name and Gender Marker Changes

We often think of transition in 3 buckets: social, medical, and legal. The legal aspect of transition is often a challenging one in which we don’t know where to start or who to go to with questions about changing our name and/or gender marker. Here at Plume we want to help! We have created a user-friendly resource that breaks down the steps to successfully update your name and/or gender marker, and have recorded it as a webinar.

The webinar is hosted by Lana Patel (she/her) and Alex Guerra (he/him) from Plume’s Community team. During the webinar, they will give you tips and tricks to navigating the legal system to successfully change your name and/or gender marker. You can also download the presentation slides along with a guide to help keep all your documents organized throughout the process.

As a reminder, if you are a member of Plume, we can provide you with letters for your name and/or gender marker change! Make sure you message your care team for support.

In order to provide healthcare services to you and give you medically appropriate care, we are required to get a recent blood pressure reading. You can get your blood pressure read for free at many pharmacies, go to your primary care doctor, or you may purchase a blood pressure cuff online.
